Winter magic. On and off the slopes.

Berchtesgaden is not a winter sports resort in the classic sense. More of a winter wonderland. We haven’t scared our beautiful mountains to win hundreds of kilometers of slopes. Nevertheless, we have small but fine ski areas. And that’s not all. Ski touring, cross-country skiing, winter hiking or tobogganing:
the list is as long as the trails in the “Aschauerweiher cross-country center” are covered with snow – hence almost forever 😉 .

SKIING
IN BERCHTESGADEN

When skiing at the Berchtesgadener Land everyone gets their money’s worth. Parents with children, for example, at the Rossfeld or Hochschwarzeck, just above our hotel. Experts drive at the Jenner, it is said. And night owls use the floodlights at Götschen.

IN BERCHTESGADEN

Okay, now we have to show off a bit! What many do not know: the Berchtesgaden National Park is one of the most beautiful areas for ski tours in the entire Alpine region. And many ski tours are wonderful for beginners, such as the ski tour to the Hochschwarzeck. In the ski touring park on Obersalzberg you can even learn touring from scratch.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
IN BERCHTESGADEN

Slight crunching under the boards and a picture book landscape: that’s cross-country skiing in the Berchtesgadener Land! For example, the Scharitzkehl high-altitude trail on the Obersalzberg and the Aschauerweiher cross-country skiing center are particularly snow-secure – with a view of the Watzmann, cross-country skiing becomes a “really big cinema”.

High-altitude trail Scharitzkehl
The Scharitzkehl high-altitude trail is located at 1,100 meters above sea level on the Obersalzberg. The Kehlsteinhaus towers imposingly over the area of the Scharitzkehlalm.

In the Aschauerweiher cross-country center in Bischofswiesen, more than 20 kilometers of perfectly groomed trails await you against the backdrop of the Watzmann.

Brilliant blue sky, brilliant white peaks: Even without boards, winter in the Berchtesgadener Land is simply wonderful! Trudge through the snowy forest on a winter hike. Visit game feeding in the Berchtesgaden National Park. Or sledding. We recommend the “Hirscheckblitz” – and we are happy to lend you a sledge at the reception.
